AMIT has been hailed as one of the most distinctive and original voices within the electronic music industry. He is credited with creating a new and innovative sub genre within electronic music, influencing a generation of new music artists. He was the first music artist within Electronica to begin creating music at his signature ‘half-step’ at 174bpm. A whole range of fellow artists quickly followed suit but AMIT is widely acknowledged as having been the pioneer.
His music is very much influenced by Dub and in particularly artists such as King Tubby and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. His music is also heavily influenced by Asian and Middle Eastern sounds, as well as Reggae, Dub, Electro, and Techno. His work has been placed in the top 5 'Best Single' and 'Best Producer' categories on the BBC Radio listener polls. He has released two critically acclaimed albums Neverending (2006) and 9 Times (2011), released on esteemed labels such as Metalheadz, Ninja Tune, Exit, 31 Records, Tempa and more.
In the summer of 2013 AMIT inaugurated his very own long anticipated imprint AMAR Records, which has consistently been releasing top-notch music from AMIT and friends. In September 2018 AMIT curated the various artists ‘Splinters’ LP on AMAR featuring juggernauts such as Om Unit, DBridge, J:Kenzo, Vivek, Krust, Danny Scrilla and more, and was nominated for DJ Mag - 'Best of British Awards'. Additionally, at the end of 2017, AMIT launched Audio Science Online, a music technology tutorial website to share production secrets and inspire other producers. Since then, he’s taken Audio Science on the road with him, offering Production Masterclass’s in many of the cities he tours.
